“Beijing remains Islamabad’s strategic partner in all seasons, says the Foreign Office.”

The Foreign Office refutes the ‘baseless’ accusations against Pakistan’s ties to China.

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Foreign Office has denied baseless claims that Pakistan adheres to Chinese policies, stressing that Beijing is always a strategic ally of Islamabad.

Social media posts and local and Indian media allegations that Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi attended a gathering in Houston, Texas, where lobbying against the Communist Party of China was purportedly taking place, prompted this remark.

The Federal Interior Minister clarified that he did not attend any anti-Chinese events while in the United States and dismissed these accusations as propaganda.

Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan refuted these allegations, reiterating that China remains Pakistan’s reliable strategic partner. He characterized the media rumors as unfounded accusations meant to erode the alliance between China and Pakistan.

The spokesperson reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast adherence to the One China Policy’s core tenet, which continues to be a pillar of Pakistan’s foreign policy. He emphasized the significance of this partnership, which is based on similar values, mutual trust, support for fundamental concerns, and a dedication to regional and international stability.

It is important to remember that China and Pakistan have long had close diplomatic relations, particularly since China started lending money to and investing in Pakistan in 2013. The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), often referred to as a “lifeline” for Pakistan’s economy, has received contributions from China totaling more than $65 billion.
