A resolution has been presented to make Donald Trump president for a third time.

Washington: Republicans have proposed an amendment to the constitution that would allow former President Donald Trump to serve a third term. The United States Congress is considering a proposal that would allow a president to serve a third term. Presidents are now limited by the U.S. Constitution to two terms in office, and those who have served two terms are not eligible to compete for reelection, according to reports from international media.

There have already been attempts to amend this clause to permit Trump to run for a third term. Trump is a revolutionary leader who may restore America to its former greatness, according to Congressman Andy Ogles, who sponsored the resolution. Ogles said Trump needs more time to accomplish his objectives and emphasized the need to reconsider the limitations of the 22nd Amendment. In contrast to the present constitutional system, which allows for a maximum of two terms as president, the proposed change would allow anybody to serve for three terms.

Additionally, the amendment adds a few requirements. A president who has served two terms in a row, for example, would not be eligible for a third term. Furthermore, after more than two years in office, an acting or interim president is not eligible to serve more than two terms. Remember, the implementation of this constitutional change would necessitate significant parliamentary backing.

The resolution must be approved by a two-thirds majority in both the Senate and the House of Representatives, or it must be ratified by a constitutional convention with two-thirds of state legislatures. Three-fourths of the states would then have to ratify the amendment for it to become effective. Nevertheless, the Republican Party does not currently hold a two-thirds majority in the Senate, making the amendment extremely unlikely to pass.

  1. Comment: The proposal to amend the U.S. Constitution to allow a third presidential term is quite controversial. It seems to be driven by the belief that former President Donald Trump could bring significant change to the country. However, the current limitations of the 22nd Amendment were established to prevent the concentration of power. Additionally, the political landscape makes the passage of this amendment highly improbable. Question: Do you think this amendment could gain enough support to pass, or is it merely a symbolic gesture?
