“The TTP is using advanced weapons left behind by the American forces.”

Islamabad: Shafqat Ali Khan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, voiced serious concerns about the cutting-edge weapons that the US forces left behind in Afghanistan, saying that they now pose a threat to Pakistan’s and its people’s security. According to the official, many modern military weaponry and equipment were left behind when American forces left Afghanistan in August 2021. Many terrorist organizations, including the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), are now using these weapons in attacks in Pakistan.

Shafqat Ali Khan underlined that Pakistan and the stability of the region are also at risk from these weapons in Afghanistan. He pointed out that more frequent strikes along Pakistan’s borders are a result of terrorist groups’ operations becoming more lethal due to the spread of sophisticated U.S. weapons.According to the statement, Pakistan has repeatedly called on the Kabul interim government to act swiftly and decisively to stop terrorist groups from acquiring these weapons.
