Karachi: In January, the FBR is probably going to experience a revenue shortfall of more than 50 billion rupees.
The tax collection target for January was set at 956 billion rupees, but the FBR is only anticipated to collect 900 billion, leaving a 50 billion rupee gap, according to FBR sources.
Over 435 billion rupees could be lost in revenue between July and January. About 700 billion rupees have been collected by the FBR thus far, and another 200 billion are anticipated to be collected over the next three days.
According to sources, they will not be able to fulfill the January target. The third quarter of the current fiscal year is when the FBR hopes to collect 3,000 billion rupees in taxes.
For January, February, and March, the FBR has set tax collection goals of 956 billion rupees, approximately 950 billion rupees, and 1,200 billion rupees, respectively.
The FBR is facing a potential revenue shortfall of over 50 billion rupees this month.
