The Syrian embassy in Stockholm has confirmed that some of the victims in Sweden’s worst-ever school shooting were Syrians. The attack took place at Risbergska School in Örebro, leaving ten people dead.
Local reports have named the suspected shooter as 35-year-old Rickard Andersson, who was also killed. However, police have not officially confirmed his identity or given a reason for the attack.
In a Facebook post, the embassy expressed deep condolences to the victims’ families and the Swedish people. While acknowledging that Syrians were among those killed, it did not say how many.
