Justice Abhar Gul dismissed the petition for the recovery of PTI worker Farhan Chishti.

In an extraordinary decision, the Lahore High Court dismissed a petition seeking the return of missing PTI activist Farhan Chishti. Justice Abhar Gul denied the plea, querying why the Defense Secretary was named a respondent. She argued that the court “cannot summon an intelligence agency” and that there was no need to issue a notice to the Punjab IG.

Lawyer Khadija Siddiqi contended that whenever law enforcement authorities (LEAs) apprehend someone, the court must determine their whereabouts. On the same day, Justice Raja Ghazanfar issued notifications in a similar case, emphasizing inconsistencies in judicial rulings.

In another case, Justice Abhar Gul rejected involving the Defense Secretary, citing Article 199(3), whereas lawyers contended that he works for the government and can be included.
