Israeli Soldiers Killed in Shooting Amid Ongoing West Bank Operation

Two soldiers were killed in a gun incident in the occupied West Bank, where Israeli troops are conducting a significant operation against Palestinian armed organizations, according to the IDF.

A Palestinian shooter opened fire at a checkpoint near Tayasir, north of Tubas, injuring eight more troops. The military said the assailant was shot and killed.

Although they did not take credit for the incident, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad welcomed it. A UN official issued a warning about the deteriorating situation in the refugee camp in Jenin.

According to the Palestinian health ministry, Israeli soldiers have murdered 70 Palestinians in the West Bank since the year began, including 25 in Jenin and 13 in Tubas and Tulkarm in the last two weeks.
