Investigation into negative propaganda on social media: 16 PTI members summoned again.

Due to harsh social media campaigning, the federal government’s Joint Investigation Team (JIT) summoned 16 PTI members once more. The JIT has requested that they appear on March 18.

Some of those called included Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Hammad Azhar, Zulfi Bukhari, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Khalid Khurshid Khan, and others. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Rauf Hassan, and Shah Farman had previously appeared before the JIT; however, Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, failed not show up for her summons on March 14. She has been scheduled to appear on March 19.

The JIT, overseen by Islamabad’s IGP, is examining anti-state propaganda under the 2016 Electronic Crimes Act. The purpose is to hold individuals in leadership positions accountable.
