Increase in Toll Tax on National Highways and Motorways from April 1

Tolls on National Highways and Motorways Have Increased As of April 1st
Islamabad: The National Highway Authority (NHA) will increase the toll on major highways and national roads once more on April 1, 2024. Given that this is the fourth hike of the current fiscal year, commuters are further burdened financially.

In the updated tolls, cars now pay Rs. 70, vans Rs. 150, and buses Rs. 250. The cost of a truck toll ranges from Rs. 300 to Rs. 550. Significant increases have been observed on key motorways, including M-1, M-3, M-4, M-5, M-14, and E-35.

Despite the NHA’s assertion that the increase is for maintenance, the public is concerned about rising transportation costs. According to critics, it raises the financial burden and sparks social and political turmoil.
