Google Among Companies Ending Diversity Recruitment Targets

Google is the latest major U.S. company to drop its hiring targets for underrepresented groups, according to BBC News.

The decision follows the company’s annual review of its corporate policies, leading to the removal of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) recruitment goals. Additionally, Google is reassessing several other DEI programs.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump and his supporters have frequently criticized DEI initiatives. Since returning to the White House just over two weeks ago, Trump has directed government agencies to dismantle such programs.
