For counterterrorism operations, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has set aside Rs. 5.5 billion to outfit the police with cutting-edge equipment and weaponry. While Rs. 1.3 billion is set aside for the security of police stations and checkpoints, Rs. 3 billion will be used for bulletproofing automobiles and purchasing cutting-edge equipment.
In addition, Rs. 500 million will be used to build police infrastructure, and Rs. 720 million will be used to buy sophisticated equipment, sniper weapons, and night vision goggles. Salary increases for police officers would bring them into line with those of Punjab Police and Balochistan Police.
These actions are intended to promote peace and order, boost counterterrorism activities, and increase police effectiveness. According to the administration, these actions would improve the province’s overall police performance and security.
