“Mortuary Overwhelmed with Bodies After Shelling at Crowded Sudanese Market”

The medical organization Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has reported that shelling at a busy market close to Sudan’s capital has led to a morgue being overflowing with dead.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have denied any involvement in the Saturday assault in Omdurman that killed or wounded more than 100 people, although both MSF and Sudanese authorities have blamed the RSF for the incident.

According to the Sudanese Doctors’ Union, women and children made up the bulk of the victims.

More than 22 months of civil war between the RSF and the Sudanese army have killed tens of thousands, creating one of the worst humanitarian crises in history, according to the UN.
