Farah Iqrar’s comment about men who have one wife has backfired on her.

Karachi: Farah Iqrar, a former news anchor, has received significant criticism on social media for a statement she made on Rabi Pirzada’s podcast. According to her, males who only have one wife engage in extramarital affairs, and their spouses consent to this.

Farah stated that she had no problem with her husband’s previous marriages during the podcast, specifically mentioning that Islam allows males to have more than one wife.

She denied that her husband’s two wives were against her, adding that she is not bothered by the fact that her husband, Iqrar-ul-Hassan, is now traveling abroad with his wife and son.

Farah explained that although she may have offended his first wife with her marriage to Iqrar-ul-Hassan, she has no problem with his third marriage and would not mind if he got married a fourth time.

She received harsh backlash on social media after claiming that men who have one wife are more prone to having affairs. Numerous users referred to her comment as irrational and an assault on social norms.

Farah Iqrar retorted that, although her remarks may offend a lot of people, they do represent her viewpoint. She went on to say that wives frequently permit their husbands to have affairs or girlfriends but shun the notion of getting married again.

Following her remarks, Farah received harsh criticism from social media users who said that her comment denigrated males who only have one wife. One user noted that not all men with a single wife are unfaithful, despite her negative experience. Another commenter said that it’s improper to generalize about all men based on personal experiences and that some women forget that men have rights as well.
